James May's Man Lab

...

Following our discussions about the merits or otherwise of the current series of Top Gear, I have to say that I unequivocally enjoyed James May's Man Lab last night.

I thought it was interesting, informative, amusing, etc... particularly May's experience as a commentator at the Grand National. Plenty of laughs, notably May's assertion that his assistant, Rory, who was struggling to help, was looking like 'a dog being shown a card trick' which I found hilarious... Rolling with laughter

So, James May scores a good 'un. (he generally does... think James May Toy Stories, James May Big Ideas, the Oz Clarke progs...)

I liked the look of the 'exercise bike with surround vision' Thumbs Up ...

Agreed, a good programme

I confess I didn't enjoy last night's effort (I find anything to do with horse racing really boring) but in general i like
his programmes. Actually, the dude I really like is what's-his-name who actually does all the designing and
building. I'd love to be that inventive and practical!

Piattj!

Simmy! Yes that's him. He's a genius.
The Pizza oven was a work of art.

Yep, deffo a handy bloke. He fits the mould for the program ethos... modern man must regain the ability to be useful, make stuff & build things...

Built my own pizza oven last year, still needs finishing because of snow but nearly there, very easy to do and I just used concrete blocks and bricks as available so will render soon. The coking base is bricks from old electric storage heater.
Will post pics when done, looking forward to using it soon.

Making the pizza oven was the week before the magnets and the soap - use iPlayer!
