I can say 100% that it won't have signature LED headlights unless Xenons have been specified as an option.

Not aimed at the OP's car, but Halogens and signature together is an option.

Yeah, they are the basic headlights, no signatures and Halogen. Anyway, i went ahead and put a deposit on the car today, would have liked the signatures, but not a deal breaker!

ok, another question on this. Can i change the headlamps from my13 halogens no signature LED to Xenon with signature LED easily or does it involve a raft of changes other than the lamp units? are the connectors the same?

Do you have both the round LED DRL's plus the strip LED DRL's? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Yes DRLs (round) and signature strips! However, I have to say the "strip" lights are pretty underwhelming, they're nothing like as bright as the ones on an Evoque. I wonder if that's because they are in combination with halogens?

The signature on the Ewoks are brighter because they are the DLRs, there are no additional LED clusters like in the Freelander. The one on the picture in the first post has definitely no signures, only DLRs. One can see the signatures clearly even when turned off.

2013MY halogen headlamp question

This may be a daft question but!
Just removed headlamps to fit some Osram Nightbreakers as the standard dipped beams are crud (a number of posts about this). There only appears to be one bulb for dipped and main beam?? The owners manual shows a picture of what must be the older style lamp with the main beam bulb being towards the side of the headlamp closest to the radiator grill, which on 2013my houses the round LED DRL.

Am I being really thick here?

When I operate the lights without the 1 bulb in, neither dipped or main beam works. Also the is a noticeable clunk from the front of the car when you switch between dipped and main beam, obviously you can only hear it if you try the lights without the engine running! Just wondering what it is??

Anyway lights are better with new bulbs fitted but still not great for a £30K vehicle! 1998 Feelander XDI Hardback - Gone

On my13 models there is only one lamp (bulb) per side, it does both main beam and dipped. The clunk you hear is the solenoid actuator bringing a 'flap' down to cover part the beam in the dipped operation and vice versa.

13MY does use only a single bulb for both dip and main beam, the clunk you can hear is the "mask" which drops down to provide the dipped beam function to blank off the light to stop dazzling oncoming traffic. This is exactly same operation as you get with the HID lamps.

Thanks for info. I am now in the loop. May suggest why standard lights are so crap, if half the bulb is covered up! Another solenoid to go wrong in later life, bet they are more expensive and difficult to change than a new bulb. Least I only have to change the one bulb to improve dipped and main beam Thumbs Up 1998 Feelander XDI Hardback - Gone

What's the difference like between standard and your new Osram's?

Osrams definitely give more light than standard - which are like using a tea light in a lighthouse. My wife was getting flashed by other users the other day whilst towing the nag box with it. I had to provide a little lesson on the controls of the car and include the bit about the switch for altering headlamp beam as there was no previous knowledge of it's existence Shocked

However never had a flash from an on-coming motorist with the original bulbs no matter how much weight in the arse. Rolling with laughter

Osrams still not amazing just adequate, if you want to do better then I guess your are into a Xenon retro fit job. 1998 Feelander XDI Hardback - Gone

England

Changed to Halfords UB and much better than standard but have gone through 2 sets in last 12 months so now fitted Osram NB 110% as most people on here seem to use them. Interesting to see how long these last! Smile Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey

On my previous Freely i fitted Osram Nightbreaker plus soon after purchase and nearly three years later the car was sold with them still working.
