I've wondered what that one is. Looking at it closely, it looks like a stadium of sorts (in3d). I'm sure it comes up as you drive past Haydock race course. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

I don't know what the icon is but perhaps its a 'sports' icon.

As you know the location is between the M6 and Wigan, south of Gathurst railway station and its in the middle of a field Confused albeit marked out as a football and rugby field.

its looks to be in Gathurst wood, or land adjacent

it also appears on the map further down below, if you scroll downwards, this area is a playing fields, football goals etc on google maps

so i deduce it to be a public land/sports area icon after all it sort of looks like a stadium/arena

be honest though, its not really that important to know what it is Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Oh yes it is, you have obviously been missing out on the 'drive through dogging site' POI, around my area you can't see the roads for the laybys Whistle

It is near Haydock but Google earth shows football/cricket grounds where this symbol is.
