RRS MY14 Launch

Anyone daft enough to stay up and watch the launch?

I did, streaming was pants, then the content were just lacking, interviewing the designer and a few other who babbled on about anything but the car, with a few videos of it in action

Might as well have just waited till today to investigate the new model

Anyway, after the leaked tint photos, my opinion has changed, the new car in Grey/black is really nice Cool

Love it! Bow down I can't wait to see what the new Freelander will be like after seeing all of these great looking Range Rovers (except the Evoque Whistle ).

its really grown on me after the first release photos,

just been spec'ing it up and at £56k for the basic SE with extras i won't be running to order one, but maybe a old shape to put me on for a little while if the sums add up, but then i'm driving around in a old shape when they is a new one out Confused

I has made me think about what they are going to improve on the FL3 though, if along the same line then it will be good news Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Really like the idea of the wading assistance function, will help alot of people who buy the cars and assume they can go through flood water. Freelander 2, 2014 Dynamic SD4 Santorini Black

As long as the floodwater gets deep gradually then the warning will be useful but no-one knows what lies beneath, bit of a gimmick in most cases especially as you will driving at quite a few metres/second.

Love the look of it though especially in the 'not so bright' colours, but the passenger side dash looks bland.

those who opted for surround cameras, some have commented on not using them after a few months, no need to have them unless your offroading and got bored of showing them off

how many will actually use a wade alarm, at 700mm wading depth your still going to need a bow wave, so even if it went off, your still committed on your drive Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I like it. Just spent half an hour or so speccing an HSE & it came to £64.5K. Now then that's only 258 shifts of overtime Sad

Does that mean the current model will reduce in price? That'll give me 4 or 5 years then I can change to the 2013/14 model & look forward to better fuel economy. 38MPG combined, that's about what I get from my FL2. Hurrah for technology. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

im pondering on what its going to do to the current model prices, if they hold then drop, nows the wrong time to buy one, but if they keep steady for a while it might not be too bad, don't want to shove £40K into a car and it be worthless in 3 or 4 years due to this new one, would it be better to show £40K into a new FL2 HSE Lux for a couple of years then look again at the new ones Confused Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Just when I thought I was ready to change, this comes along & throws me into confusion again. Mad
The other thing to consider is that my car is 5 years old. Will it drop in value any more, or has it hit a plateau?

I can't afford (or justify) a new one so had settled on buying a 2 or 3 year old HSE & waiting to see what I fancied after 4 or 5 years. The new one does look nice though.... Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

The cameras on the range rover models, are called "the rio Ferdinand dogging option" you can work the rest out!

I would still prefer a d4
