Evening people's...

Has anyone been to Eastnor LRE recently, who can give me feedback about the course in general?

I have been offered a chance to take my own vehicle around it, however mine has side-steps fitted, and if that is likely to hamper and/or hinder, would prefer to know about it before I part with my hard earned....

Anyone been and have an opinion as to whether or not the course is suitable at all?

I wouldn't recommend taking a side-step equipped Freelander around Eastnor. Not spent a lot of time there but what I saw your side steps would hinder your progress and increase risk of damage.
Think Rockingham when you were there but more of it, longer tracks and in places deeper ruts and we wouldn't take a Freelander with side steps around Rockingham.

Why would you want to potentially trash your car when you can potentially trash their car

In addition you have to clean the beast of all that mud and gore from every nook and cranny. I'll stick to parking on the pavement for my off-road jollies and use someone else's for the real McCoy.  MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.
