Further to my post, I have a foxwell nt300 as I said it worked on my d3 engine only but for £50 it's all I needed to check the egr valves, I got It of ebay from a company called beat the garage who were very helpful.

Hi Superspark,Can your unit change settings on the FL2.I am just about to fit a towbar to my 2013 and would have to enable the towing electrics in the tow module and /or BCU.Was going to buy the software from BBS for my MSV ,but they have withdrawn it from the market for the forseeable future.

Hi john in the special settings theres no mention of settings for programming the towbar electrics. The programming is limited as this meter is an indepth diagnostics meter. It will however test trailer moduals for correct funtion and any faults. You would be better off paying a visit to landrover to have it programmed as they will have the correct softwear

Mongoose indeed ,but it does require an subscription to use the LR/Jag software as it is only an interface.

Up to JLR131, if I'm not wrong, you don't need a network connection, it's called offline activation, so ... use Google for more details.

Hi JST, just a quick note on the meter. Before you can update it you will first have to register it. On the registration page it will ask for a company name, if you don't have a company and you just want to use it for yourself and friends then just make up a company name and use your home address so you can fill the spaces.
This will now allow you access to all the updates and fuctions of the meter regards Darren Thumbs Up

Re: Fault code reader

Geordiemick,
Finally bought a cheap basic code reader that I think works on my FL2, it's a D900 (2012 model). Reads & deletes Can, OBD II codes. With some live readings.
I'm more than happy with its functions for the cash. Landy has now gone.

Autel DS708

Just had my first play with the DS708. very impressed! It came ready registered by the factory so I didn't have to mess with that, just got on line with a password and updated the Land Rover and Peugeot (wife's care) software.

The detail available is good and I was pleased to see that the DPF "forced regeneration" facility is there. Doesn't matter for mine as I don't have a DPF but the Pug 307cc does. When I looked at this feature when plugged into the Pug it was interesting to see the history of the DPF revealed including fluid talk level, recent trips, recent regeneration, length of trips and engine temps - all good stuff! Also, watching the injector flow correction graph is quite mesmerising!

Good to see that you can also do the "diluted oil" clearance and MIL thing! John

Re: Fault code reader

Stevie5tapes,
Only had it two days. Used it on my Astra H, my FL2, Kia rio & a 107. Worked on all those. I also have Opcom for my Astra, which is alot beter for changing prog variants, prog in cruise control, activating keys etc. Opcom no good for landy’s though. For a basic reader the d900 seems great. Was really cheap, paid £20 for it Laughing Also prev tried an Autel ms509 on my FL2. Had probs linking this up with the ecu.
You also need the Landy running before the d900 will hook up. You scroll down the car menu option, select Land Rover, then read fault codes (if any stored). Very easy to use. If you’re going to buy one, I'd go for the 2012 or 2013 model, not sure it the 2011 model would work. I was either going to go for this one or the u831 scanner, went for the cheapest option & got lucky for a change Laughing I'm hoping if I suffer from another clogged fuel filter, I will be able to read the codes first. Then change filter myself.
I’m not sure it would pick up all possible codes stored on a FL2, but for the price can’t complain. Landy has now gone.
