You will find main dealers still selling 07/08 now, on occasions but it will be low mileage examples only.

Not strictly true. Marshalls have a couple of high mileage cars on their website.

So managed to get them down to 20K and an interest rate of 4.7% which I think is quite competitive.

Going for a test drive at 1 and hopefully picking it up on Monday!

Just need to try and get them to throw in some mats and possibly a service plan Whistle

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black

It is a buyers market I got a stonking deal on a nearly new "other make" car this week for the wife but that was for cash so I had the upper hand on the deal. Still it was a main dealer and I thought I was taking the mick with my cash offer and the extras but they did the deal Smile

You can only try Smile

Make sure its got both remotes and that they both work although being a LR dealer I would imagine it will have! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

One extremely happy wife, one less happy bank balance!

Car is in immaculate condition, I was just serviced and had new rubber mats put in.

We have both keys and the lady mentioned to rotate their use so as to keep them charged.

I'm impressed with the sat nav, it certainly has more functions than my Audi Nav. Slightly less intuitive, i have no idea how to end route guidance, looking through the manual now.

Feel LR missed a trick buy not integrating the phone/radio with the screen it is somewhat confusing to begin with only have the 2 line LCD display.

We're both very please with the car and thank you all for advice, now onto retrofitting arm rests!

From memory, if you are on a route, you press 'menu' on the left of the screen, then 'end guidance' over on the right. If I'm wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected. I do have the 2012/2013 map update though.

I'm glad you, and more importantly your wife, like the car. Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Spot on Steve!

So in under 12 hours ownership I have a fault!

There was 1/4 of a tank and when parking on an slope the fuel light came on and the GPS started looking for petrol stations. I figured this was the slope at play and thought no more. When we returned the car had a range of 0 and no fuel! I just filled up with 57 Litres until the pump cut off and the tank is reading 3/4 full.

Looks similar to http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic12990.html
Have a feeling ill be back to the stealers on Monday!

I do not wish to be rude but

Filling up.. You filled it up until it went click from empty: 57litres does not fill the tank if it was empty!
Filling up from EMPTY then you should get around 65/68 litres to full, the pump clicks many times when filling up, as the fuel backs up in the filler neck causing the nozzle to click off, you have to coax the last bit in.

On my rough calculation from totally empty and putting in 57 litres just over 3/4 of a tank would possibly be all it shows depending if you are on the level again Wink

Just enjoy for a few days and keep an eye on things.

I often fill mine from around almost empty (range of 70miles) and easily get £85 in at about £1.40 a litre which is around 62/63 litres and it does not hit the very top of the gauge, every time.

Regards

And I though I was the only one that had luck like that!

Okay, it could be aggro but console yourself with the fact that if it is, it's someone else's problem. Reading that post you put a link to, aren't you now glad you bought from a LR dealer rather than going ahead with a private sale with the other car from a so-called relative of a dealer!

Hi Ben

The tank wasn't empty, as I mentioned when I parked on the slope it went from 1/4 to empty instantly, we drove for 15 miles with the range reading zero miles lol. On filling it went to 3/4 so it's as if the gauge is under reading by 1/4.

Steve, completely relieved its from a LR main dealer, I'm not particularly Censored off as I know it can be resolved easily and I'm not too sure how easy the fault would be to detect on their pre checks, I think it was just my dodgy luck! I will of course tell the dealer this isn't a good introduction to the brand and try to wangle some freebies ;o)

The sales lady is going to chat with the service department tomorrow morning she suspects we will need to leave the car in for a few days.

I have no idea how the hell I missed this but the paint is peeling from the left wheel arch!!! The car was a little dusty from our test drive so I can only assume I didn't notice the shine being missing.

Put this to her and she was surprised but said they will investigate when fixing the fuel tank, guessing I don't have a leg to stand on as I accepted the car without fully inspecting. Hopefully a respray wont be too expensive or they might cover it as a goodwill gesture?

Sorry but I cannot make out the picture I can see the matte paint area but what is the swirly looking other can you put up a picture from further back please?

Ah I think I see its a reflection of a grey stone wall? That was confusing me big style.

Think if the garage do not own up to knowing it was there before you took the wagon, they may refuse to do that free and would be well within their rights, let's hope someone says ah Censored that was to be done before it went out, pretty sure if it is a main dealer they would not miss that.

To do that properly reckon £200 at least from proper body shop to do it correctly

It is surprisingly easy to miss, I had to point out the specific area for a friend before he noticed it.

Took another picture with the flash on so you can see exactly where the paint is missing.

The left is normal road film and dust, you can see where I have wiped it away and then the different between the shine and the matte.

The black matte undercoat blends really well when there are watermarks and crap so that its almost invisible.

Just wondering if this is the result of a bodged respray in the past. I remember dropping in to a dealer to look at a LR2 they had advertised (a black one, in fact) and they apologised for it not being ready. Took me round the back and it was undergoing an extensive respray!
