I mentioned on here that I have been having problems with locking/unlocking my vehicle. It became intermittent, and was a right pain. I took the fob apart to see if I could find anything 'wrong' inside it. First, I took the circuit board out and tried to lock/unlock the vehicle, and it worked. So I could only think that the fob is worn where it touches the little buttons on the circuit board. I put a small piece of wooden lollypop stick in the rubber recesses by the buttons, then closed the fob but did not glue it. I then tried it again on the vehicle and it worked. I can actually here the buttons 'click'.
How long it will last is anybody's guess, but for now it seems to be okay. The fob looks like a terrier has attacked it, but it works. I may buy a new fob off Ebay.

I got my fob reconditioned by a company on EBay. Both work again now! 1998 300TDi Auto Disco, never to be forgotten.

i repaired mine for under £20, the battery needs replacing,battery costs about £5 and I took it to a local electronic company to solder it in for about a tenner. You have to take care opening case there are instructions online and in this forum, Steve the newby
