United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Santorini Black
2013 Freelander Grill

Hi All
Newbie here. Does anyone know if the grille on the 2013 FL2 is the same fit as the 2011 / 2012 facelift models.

I'm looking to get rid of all my chrome bits with black including the grille and side vents. The new dynamic and the White edition have black grille's but these don't seem to be availble from the dealers for quite a few month yet.

I was going to go HST and repaint the inner grille black or something alon those lines.

Any idea's or suggestions, much appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

I think I've just realised that the grill is actually part of the front bumper setup and a seperate item like on most vehicles.

I'm guessing my options are either have the grill painted while still fitted to the vehicle or HST grill it ?

Pretty sure you have to replace the whole bumper and grill assembly. If yours is a facelift bumper and you go the HST route, bear me in mind and let me have first dibs on your old bumper. Mr. Green Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Thanks, I'm just used to being able to pop out the grill and replace it.

Wrapping the front grill sections in black might be a less destructive option to see if I like it black. Easy to remove.

The bumpers your's if it comes off !

Don't think a HST grill fits the facelift as the HST was a ore facelift model

It is crazy as the facelift grill and bumper are separte parts put together with tabs that melt one to the other. But you can't buy the grill on it's own! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Just spoken to the fella who's doing my privacy glass and he's say's he can wrap the chrome cross beams in a satin black for me.

We'll see how it turns out.....I can always remove if it looks poor.

I know what your saying but I'll try the cheap option, see if I like it (maybe post a pic for people opinions) then take the plug with the full bumper.
