MY 2013 GS radio.. where is the bass!

As Above... with the Base turned right up and the trebble off it still has no UMPH!... My old 09 GS was great.. but this one is poor?...
Anyone fixed this

Has it got a sub in the boot
I thought the new GS was minus the sub with a lowly 80 watt system.

No.. but there again my old one didn't have a sub... and was lower watts!.. but the sound and bass were loads better...
this one is not good at all!!

Oh right, my GS has a 'sub' and I can't imagine being without it, perhaps LR have taken a backward step again with the entertainment system unless you pay extra for the 'Meridian' 300+ watts.

2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Baltic Blue

This topic has me really worried as I wait for mine to be built! I hope the standard stereo in a car of this cost is not too poor, but I've probably been spoiled by the B&W system in my Jag.

I couldn't justify the £2.5k hike to an XS for basically a satnav and stereo upgrade. Will I regret my decision?

well put it this way... my wife has a 55 plate basic Corsa... and her stereo is much better than my MY13 GS!
I thought getting 80 watts per chanel would result in an upgrade from my 09 FL GS... But saddly no unless I have something wrong with mine....
Dont get me wrong.. the functions and DAB etc etc are all very good... it just sounds c@@p !!

13MY price list shows Black & White, S and GS owners all get the 80W radio with no option to upgrade as a factory fit.

My 2012 GS has a sub in the boot. Just lift the floor cover to check. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

So the 2013 GS has had its sub removed
I don't know why the upgraded stereo was removed from the options list - presumably to force you to buy the XS!

Have to say the basic MY13 stero does lack base. Have found using the BT streaming seems to give a better sound. It is loud though, having it on 5 is more than enough. Not really spent much time playing with it though

Would be interested to know if a sub can be fitted (and the cost!!)

Did wonder if at some point If you could after market fit the stero you get in the XS?

Saying that it's got BT Streaming, iPod controls and a screen so all is good

My 2012 GS has a sub in the boot. I think it would be a pretty poor show if LR have removed it in the newer models.

Despite having a sub I'm not especially impressed with the stereo anyway to be honest. There's no loudness control (which I've had on every car as long as I can remember) so bass at lower volumes disappears, and no speed-related volume either.
