Service Plan

Just picked up a 2010 FL2 last week with 19100 mls , 2nd service done at 18000 , dealer quoted £900 for the next 3 yrs service plan include yearly Mot .
As I am retired I can see the attraction of paying monthly ( £25 ) , this seem reasonable ?

That's not bad, mine has quoted me £30 a month for a 3 year service plan

Do they earn their money by 'aving your eyes out when they 'find' extra work at service and MOT time? Mind you, 3 MOT's have a retail price of £165 on their own, assumong you will get 3 MOT's in three years - they might not include the last one if its at the end of the three year period. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

It depends on what 3 years servicing entails, I paid £1170 for a service plan which is for 6 services parts and labour, works out at £195 a service. Makes it easier for me to budget, I paid the fee over 18 months interest free.

This was through the Hunters group which are part of Inchcape, they have been fantastic so far, 45,000 miles in and always been corteous and helpful.

Looking at the quote its for 3/4/5th year services which I assumed were A/B/A services , the only difference shown is the included fuel filter on the 4th year service .

I would set up a bank account and stick £25 a month in there, the next service should not cost £300 so you would then be in pocket and put it towards the next service which will be more.

If you decide not to keep the car three years you then won't be paying for the service plan, you will have to make all 36 repayments as it will be part of some form of credit aggreement.

I cant see you doing a huge mileage, service interval is 15,000 miles, if you only do 8,000 a year then the second service, the B service to me would make more sense delaying until the mileage is reached rather than the yearly interval, simply have an oil change every year, which is less expensive.

Yes 8000 is about the average we do each year so what you say makes sense , something to think about then as will be out of warranty after the next dealer service and delaying the B service shouldn't be too much of a problem .
