I have a rental property that the tenants have just moved out of.

The utility room has a 12 unit kitchen fitted with tiles that is starting to look dated. Apart from the looks however there is nothing wrong with the units or tiles, solid doors, no cracks ect

Im reluctant to replace the doors or re-tile so have had a quote off a professional bodywork shop to come In, prep the units then spray them and the tiles.

Has anyone had this done before and more importantly dose it last?

Why not just daub the whole piece with Airfix paint - that'd be even cheaper!  ...

Have you seen the cost of Airfix paint for the amount you get? works out around £1000 a litre

I would have thought the finish would not last at all in a kitchen enviroment

What kind of finish? I have seen many 2pac kitchens (I think this generally implies shiny acrylic finish) and they last a good amount of time. 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame.

I dont really want to replace the doors as they are solid wood and the cr@p they use now isnt as good a quality.

Basically the bloke said they come in and prep the dooors, sanding them down & fill any marks \scratches. Mask off the whole area of the house then spray the units.

He sai the paint used is basically car paint, so says its durable and hard wearing.

You could wrap them like they do with vehicle bodies with graphics these days?
Then you could have a very nice scene of the rolling countryside?

Yes but one tin will paint at least 5 aircraft Ive found so it goes a very long way

I reckon painting will be fine, especially if the are proper wood. we bought B&Q cheapo stuff for the same job and they are not great At work

I'd be looking at around £450

That was to prep and paint the solid wood doors and end panels of the utility room units ( Think from memory there is about 12 base units, each consisting of a 500mm wide door x 600 high with a 150mm high draw above the doors )

then there is the tiles around the units - about 600mm high

I'm then getting the tiles in the main kitchen done, which are prob a 4M run at 300mm high, 1.5M run upto the ceiling so around 2.2M and then a run on the opp side 1 tile high x 3M

I dont think the cost it badly priced as I think there will be a great deal of masking off ect - Well at least I hope he masks the rest of the kitchen off

Kitchen and Utility room sprayed today. Just waiting for the new door handles to come and I'm sorted:
