I've been quoted between £400 and £500 for a B service.

Whats the difference between A and B service. And when the service thingy comes up on the display does it say A or B service? I only ask as I bought my car from a non Land Rover dealer. They were quite happy to tell me that they had serviced the car to LR spec (it says in the service book 2nd service, A) so not to invalidate the warrenty but then there were a couple of minor problemswith the car so they sent it off to a LR dealer that was part of the their group (Perrys). I thought then why didnt they get it serviced there? Any hows mine is due its 3rd service in April and I am told its only a minor service by the local indi. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

There are Dealers that will do a 'B' service for less than £400, shop around. |

If it's still under warranty just bite the bullet & pay £400, you might save say £100/£150 by using a independent specialist but is saving £100 worth the risk of invalidating your warranty ? |

Muck boots - here what you say but a specialist using genuine parts won't invalidate a warrenty.

It may be £100 but should you have a problem just out of warranty, LR may look favourably and contribute towards the fix, I had a Disco in the past and had a new gearbox three months out of warranty, if you go with the Indy you won't be so lucky.
