The lurking and researching is over - I've just done the deal and looking forward to joining the club!

I've gone for a GS Auto SD4, with a few extras and been told build should be third week of March - can't wait! Any idea how long after build before I will get to pick the car up? Dealer is sending an experience voucher, as if anticipation levels weren't already high.

This will be my 5th JLR motor in the last decade, but first LR, so hoping my fantastic experience with Jags will be repeated!

I notice you live not too far from me and I am changing ours soon. Which dealer have you gone to? Any feedback regarding quality of service received and their willingness to offer a good deal would be appreciated.

And of course picies of the new car when it arrives.

BTW I also moved from Jaguar to LR after 2 years of very happy X Type ownership. Don't regret the move one bit, FL 2 is more practical and more fun.

I've been to four dealers in the North West, ended up going with Stratstone in Bury based on the deal they were willing to offer. I sensed there was flexibility with most and it came down to what worked for me (finance and servicing). So the car was list price less £2k finance contribution plus financed at 3.6APR rather than the standard 5.9 (worth £1,109.82 to me) and then has 5 years servicing for £199. I'm not sure exactly what this is worth, but based on my Jaguar experiences it has to be at least £1,500. So, no "headline" discount, but savings worth over £4.5k so I'm happy with that.

BTW, I haven't left Jaguar behind, I've still got the XK, I certainly expect the FL2 to be more practical that that!!

Be prepared for the car to arrived very soon after the build date - mine arrived at the dealer on the original "build" date 21 Dec (ordered 8 Nov). I think they may be pessimistic so as to delight you rather than risk disappointing.

You will enjoy the LR Experince, you wil lbe impressed by the capability of your new vehicle and you will drive the freezes and floods with new-found confidence!
