Water Test - PASSED!

Encountered a burst River Leam on the way back from Cubbington this morning...a lot of stranded cars before and after the bridge. A Shogun was wondering whether to chance it or not, so while he was pontificating, I went round him, into 1st, revs at 2k, and pulled all the way through.

A couple of twitchy moments on the double hump, as the second splashdown was deeper than I thought...I'm not going to guess just how deep, but considerably deeper than the 500mm recommended wading depth. However, at that point I was committed and had a bit of momentum so just had to wade through it....plus it cleaned all the salt and crap out from my underbody and wheel arches (of sorts).

Those of you from Warwickshire that know Offchurch (Welsh Road) will know exactly where I was, and just how deep it is there too currently. Wink

The Shogun also made it through, but lost his number plate in the process.....hey ho. Foraging near Gaydon....

I have been through a very muddy flood this morning too. Not on the scale of what you posted about but enough to make normal cars go half on the kerb at the shallower end to avoid the worst of it. The water was so muddy it was actually black.

I could afford to hit the water at a higher speed (relatively speaking) and the advantage of the auto is that it changed down when the force of the water slowed me down so no need to worry about diving for a gear change. (Used to have a manual FL1)

Didn't look too good on the paintwork of the white 5 series following Laughing 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack

Pleased you got through, just watch it in deep water as the car has a tendency to float away, especially in moving water... Freelander 2, 2014 Dynamic SD4 Santorini Black

Hope you waders are all going to get your starter motors checked out after your wading as they are not sealed. I know Alex P says they are mounted above wading depth but can tell you that water still gets to them and several months later they fail.
Have got the 」300+ invoice for a replacement to prove it.

Looked like the Mercedes driver was dead anyway, best thing for them.
