New Top Gear

Did anyone watch it?
I nearly choked on my red wine watching Clarkson testing his P45!
It was up there with his V8 food mixer!
Absolutely hilarious! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

It's amazing that they get permission to do the things they do in the places they do. Absolutely brilliant. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Found it a little long winded, the P45 segment dragged on for too long Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

50 minutes of it was wasted airtime and that Pagani Hughoarr or whatever its called, sounds like a vomit noise, is absolutely hideous, it was nothing more than the hamster satisfying himself and factually told you very little about the car in reality. Yawn

'Fraid I thought the P45 item was a pointless waste of time, but then it has been said that I don't have a sense of humour!

A Bentley on a rally stage should have been equally silly, but somehow that bit worked - probably because they took it seriously (as you'd hope given that the rally stage was full of spectators and an accident could have been fatal!). I assume Bentley had approved this abuse of their car, which says something for their belief in their product.

The Pagani lap was the perfect example of dramatic = slow. It looked like Granny out in her Fiesta, apart from the odd squirm under braking, yet took the lap record by over a second! There's an awful lot to dislike about that car - the whole of the interior to start with - but it can certainly move!

But the best bit came in the previews at the start - there was a hint there of an off-road challenge. Let's hope it's a proper one, like the one they did in South America, and not one of the silly bedouin-tent-on-a-sports-car types.

EDIT: Hmm. Forget the off-road challenge Sad Whilst the car shown in the preview was at least 4WD (Subaru Impreza) it appears from the TG website that another is an old Volvo estate. So not a serious off-road challenge then.

Loved the Bentley bit, as said above impressed with Bentley for letting them take it on a rally stage.

Would have been even quicker with a properly read rally stage book !

Still enjoy the programme, I'm still a kid at heart ! D4 Commercial

Personally, I've always seen TG as one of the highlights of the weekly telly. Admitted it can be lame sometimes, but it's still a good prog - often very funny, sometimes outrageous (nice to see some feathers ruffled), sometimes laugh-out-loud hilarious. I'm glad they haven't Censored with the well tried format. ...

Anyone know the location of the forest used for the Bentley clip?

It was the Hafren stage and ended at the Sweet Lamb spectator area.

Next time the rally is on, might be a good day out with the cameras Thumbs Up

top gear is good not great. but compared to endless shows about hotels, diner parties, department stores. or that daily mail esq dating show on Saturday nights its bloody brilliant.

never mind the endless cairokee, britains full of tossers, type shows Evil or Very Mad At work

They used the same stage at the end of the Colin McCrae program shown a little later Sunday evening. Hope they filmed it at the same time. Got to get our monies worth. Smile
