2012 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Galway Green
Key charging and other questions

Hi, I'm a new owner, SD4, 2012, 0km, absolutely love te car, beside the 'turbo second'... when starting, getting used to it.

When I picked up my car at the dealer (here in Brazil) he advised me to: Always put the key in the hole 'upside down' i/o not to 'damage' the buttons...!
Question: is this really necessary? and: is te key charging upside down???

Also I asked to install the DRL option.
I had to inform my VIN nbr and got the answer that it was NOT poss. with this car (as they apparently could see according the VIN nbrs...) IMHO ...BS.!

Thanks your kind help,
Sunny greetings (no need for Snow option here, but Sand option very usefull Cool

Stefan

Putting the key in upside down will not recharge the fob. The fob will only recharge when inserted the right way up. Also remember the change which fob you use on a regular basis to ensure they both remain charged.

Certainly in UK DRL only became an option on 2013 models.
