He did, but had to take a company car earlier than expected, was supposed to run the golf for about a year out of the scheme, but a promotion came with a car Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I like golfs - they do most things well! Except go off road perhaps... although my mate claims his R32 will get him most places in the snow.

Bit boring though in standard trim!? Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

ie, GTI / GTD / R!

All the rest look boring in my opinion.

It has a tow bar also??? who puts a tow bar on a golf1? Whistle Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

in terms of range i think it is towards the top so should have a decent spec. just not got the sporty stuff.

I had a MK4 GTTDI which I loved - did 80k trouble free miles while I had it - I literally did nothing to it except change the tryes and get the door handle repaired when some scally tried to break in.

Great image - class leading drive - reasonable on the pocket to run - roomy (ish)

My one single complaint would be the dealer network, but then none of them are perfect Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

I have always found VW's fine, average, adequet etc they have never made me frustrated but never excited me either. Make a perfect a to b car so if that's what your looking for look no further. But do considerer the skoda / seat alternatives as often much cheaper with more toys.

looks nice,
will be alot more economical to run, well built, refined and should hold its value well.
Also i like the way Golfs are classless, and you can park one anywhere and it wont look out of place! Thumbs Up
Why the change?

Don't believe everything that VW like to suggest about the reliability, although the reputation has definitely passed from advert to widely held opinion, independent surveys tend to find that it's little different to its Ford Focus / Vauxhall Astra competitors.

Personally, I would be very unhappy to transfer from an FL2 to one. If you do, make sure that you're aware of the downward pointing dragon's teeth on the edges of the raised tailgate (they are the pointy edges of the tailgate just where the rear lights go) before you catch your head on one of them!
