Just a few thoughts and not even close to being an informed opinion!

As the bars currently fit they do not rely on any of Land Rovers fixings. They are a stand alone product which would require accessory type approval. If they were to introduce the new feet that anchor in to Land Rovers fixings they may need Land Rover to co-operate with obtaining type approval. Just a theory but I’m sure someone on here will know all about EU and UN vehicle and accessory type approval.

It took me several installations before I worked it out and the clamps do not touch any paintwork. The clamping force is applied to the black plastic rim which is part of the rubber door seal.

The direct fix to the roof looks better and would be the preferred fix but the clamps work okay for the occasional need carry a load. A Land Rover owner since 1988

I was really waiting for this, but July already seems too long, plus there's no guarantee they will actually do it even then! So maybe I'm underestimating the work here, but from the pictures the fit seems doable even without a special kit. Rin03, could you let me know what is the model of foot and bars that they fitted?

Once we know this, I guess it's only a matter of fitting a bolt through the bottom of the foot in one of the existing holes for fitting roof racks/bars. Only question is how we find out what are the exact positions of these holes , as not all of them seem to be marked on the black plastic strips, and I would not be keen to remove those just to know where to drill a hole... MY2011, TD4 Auto, Xenon headlights, fog lamps DRLs, sunroof, tinted windows, almond electric seats w/ lumbar support, leather steering wheel w/ audio controls, dog/luggage guard, ambient lights, flush Whispbars, Mantec sump&tank guards, Xtrons Head Unit
