Hi all, I am a new Freelander 2 owner and new here.

I have a 07 plate freelander 2 and want to fit side steps on. I have checked on OEM price and they are just simply out of my budget. I have found some after market product on ebay and intend to get them.

My problem is I am really not a handy man and I need someone to help the fitting, but I have got quotation of fitting ranged from £300 to £600. I doubt whether it really takes that much to do the job? Could anyone give me some idea about how complexity of the fitting and how much it would normally cost?

Other thing is does anyone know a good Land Rover specialist in Warrington could do this job in a reasonable price?

I just recently fitted side steps to my 57 plate freelander.
Im reasonably practicle at a majority of things, but it took me most of the day to get them fitted.
Whilst someone who has done many of them, would be alot quicker, id still think it would take 3-4 hours.
therefore given that most FL garages labour charges are around £80-£90 per hour, this would explain the £300 quoted price.

As long as you can work a spanner and a socket and dont rush, its a fairly simple job once you have the instructions and know how to get the trims off.

Could be worth seeing if anyone in your area would be willing to assist you with the fitting of them.

Hi Eddie I fitted my own side steps, I bought a rivit tool to make the job which easier and I've still got it. I live in St Helens
so PM me and I would be happy to help. Keep the book it can in its handy to lay on it when fitting.

Buy the ones like mine that use existing holes, just bolt up and job done.

At the moment I am still not very confindent to do it myself so still looking for some garage that may help (in good price), but I will keep you in mind and may need to ask more questions later.

Hi, could you kindly tell me (or PM) which one you bought and where you bought it? I checked on ebay and most of them saying is the same (design) side step as OEM (product ref: LR002773).

I guess they all good to be fitted on using exisitng holes?

Hi I bought mine last year from ebay there,s lots on ebay , I payed about £190 and they look just like Land Rover one's. There no problem to fit you just take your time, once you do one side the other side is dodle.
