Can you feel the haldex working

Not long had the FL2, and last night was one of the first time in the real heavy rain driving it at speed and crashing the puddles.

On the whole it performed very very well. I'm very pleased.

One thing I noticed though was that if I hit a longer puddle on the nearside, then the car would pull slightly as you'd expect and drag at the cars speed, but it would then sometimes do a little shunt feeling. The water would slow you down a little, then the shunt, then it'd continue to power out of the puddle. Almost like car switched something on and then drove out. It so wasn't a hard shunt or anything, but definitely something.

Is that likely to be the haldex kicking in ? I was figuring it may be the car sensing the nearside wheel slipping and the system kicking in a different 4wd mode.

Anyone else notice this sort of thing?

No...I'm guessing you're feeling different levels of resistance in the depth of the water as I know what you're describing.

Haldex is pretty seemless. In the winter going round a right corner, if you try to light it up everything happens seamlessly as soon as you asl for power, rather than 'in order', front loses traction then the rear digs in, as it were.

Hope you're enjoying the car Thumbs Up Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Sound more like traction control kicking in. I had a similar feeling starting off in the snow - just a slight hesitation then off she went.
