Calling Freelander 2 i6 owners

We are a small breed. According to How Many Left there were a total of only 64 registered in the UK.

This was from 2006 until 2015 when 1 was registered. (That one must have sat about for while)

So if anybody wants to form a small (very small) club or forum let me know.

Expect scorn or abuse from our diesel bretheren, but remember, small is beautiful.

Hi Axle,

I looked at the page for new registrations (see attached) but I agree the link you sent places it at over 400.

Odd...

It was done when I bought it Very Happy the firm was in Worthing if I remember right, not in business anymore.
Had two range rovers, one discovery and a volvo xc converted over the years, also bought two fiesta's and a focus plus a volvo v40, Vauxhall corsa, and a Landrover 110 already converted.
Still lots of firms converting, prices from a grand upwards, I would guess that a good system for an i6 would be around 2k as they are harder to convert for some reason, worth looking around if your interested, only worth doing if you do a lot of miles or are going to keep the car along time, one downside is what do you do with the spare! mines strapped to the drivers side but it pushes the single rear seat forward a bit, either that or run the risk of just having a repair can, I put up with that for the 49.9 ppl Very Happy near where I work. Common sense isn't very common.

That would account for not being able to find them easily for sale used, i would seriously consider one whether lpg or not.

If you get the chance you should try one, awesome,
The only thing I don't like about it is the £500.00 road tax Shocked Still I changed two £305.00 tax cars for this and a tax free one so in my mind I've saved £110.00 that buys me 48 gallons of gas, about 1000 miles Very Happy Common sense isn't very common.

Hi Eye Six yes we are the few !! I really like the i6 yes it's a bit thirsty but smooth as you like and reasonably quick too. Shame they don't make the FL2 anymore but they seem to be pretty well built so hopefully will keep going for a good long while yet. I don't know about a sub group but I guess it would be useful as a place to shout for help - although folk on here usually respond quite quickly like Axle helping out with some oil change advice !! Still haven't done that btw - didn't realise it needs 7 litres of oil - only ordered one 4l pot of oil (doh) another's on the way so this weekend doing the change. F2 3.2 i6 for the white stuff

So I'm finding out but hey got to keep the engine happy !! Probably doing the brakes this weekend as well - the rear nearside has started making the occasional grinding noise so I'll investigate first and see what's going on, no doubt that'll rush me a few more quid, however; I'm really enjoying having a car I can actually work on it's like going back in time 30 years Very Happy F2 3.2 i6 for the white stuff

By the way Axel as you are obviously doing lots of stuff to your i6 - how often do you change your spark plugs and do you have a preference in brand e.g. NGK V Champion ? and do you have an opinion on Winter Tyres - probably don't need them down south but I fit them up here - I've got the original 18" wheels which I'm going to refurb and then shoe with winter rubber. Got 19" Ewok wheels on it at the mo with Continental Cross which are OK but not the most reassuring in the wet so I expect them to be pretty useless in slush and light snow. F2 3.2 i6 for the white stuff

I could think of a few choice words Rolling with laughter

The standard future form "somebody who is going to..." "Call you out" is an idiom meaning in this context telling - sometimes even in a harsh way - that you did something wrong; reacting to your doing. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
