I had a warning light come on this morning-yellow steering wheel with an exclamation mark (!) next to it. It is not in the manual (I have the poverty spec S which doesn't seem to be covered in any detail). Has anyone come across this before?

Hi. Many thanks for having a look but it is none of those. I can't find anywhere in either the manual or the web with that symbol listed. I guess that makes mine special. The Freelander 2 S spec has a different instrument cluster-no LCD display etc. You don't even get an outside temperature display. I did say it was poverty spec at the S level-I think the Miners were striking and Margaret was the Prime Minister the last time I had a car without an outside temperature display. I now go back to the old system of ice on windscreen means cold and no ice means not so cold!!

Is it the symbol that comes up in this thread?

Hi. Many thanks-that is the warning light I've got lit! I'll drop him a message and see if he got to the bottom of it. I'm trying to avoid a trip to the dealers if I can.
