Australia 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Alaska White
Need new boots

Am looking for some new boots for the beast.
Currently running Dunlop Grandtrek pt3.
The're not the best tyre......noisy as,left fr is almost down to limit, not much good in the wet.
Was looking at Continental Crosscontact AX6, but there's none in Australia and they dont know when they will be available.
Do mostly hwy k's now so looking at All season type tyre for when I do venture off the blacktop
On the RR I had a much larger range of tyres, but it seems that the Freeby is limited in 18" tyres in the "235" range.
Want something that wears well,is QUIET and is good/excellent in wet weather( rain for most of the winter).
Have looked at a few comparison sites and they dont help make up one's mind. Evil or Very Mad
Whats the verdict of fellow FL2 owners out there re tyres for your beast.

TIA

Long been a fan of General Grabber tyres and used a variety of their AT tyres over the last 15 years. Also used their GT tyre on my wife's Tiguan which are more road biased. Get 40k miles out of any of them with ease.
I currently have continental cross contact atr on the freelander which seem very good also. 18k miles on them so far and lasting well. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Thanks Bob,
Am going to ring the tyre mob tomorrow and see if they have any of the ATR's left. Was just looking at them on a tyre review site.
I'll have a look at the GG's as well.
cheers

Try going up to a 255/55 R18 tyre. You might find a better range available. This size has virtually the same circumference, so will make no difference to speed etc., and fits without any issues. -------------------------------------------------------------

I've just fitted a set of Avon AX7 All Terrain 255/55 R18 tyres. No issues so far and no rubbing on the struts. -------------------------------------------------------------
