England

I fitted a new diaphragm to my baxi combi last year, it literally took 20 mins including getting the tools out! gas fitter quoted me over £100 to do it and i paid £12 for the part!
During the last cold snap the boiler packed in the day before we were going away to a wedding for 2 days (they always go at the most inconvenient and coldest time!) turned out to be the PCB, luckily i now have a good and reasonable gas fitter handy,
Solar panels are tempting!

Ive had a diverter valve go before but my rads came on when I wanted hot water. At least it cant be nothing major as the boiler is providing the heat. I had a Veismann boiler fitted 3 years ago, broke down after 1 week! Turns out it was a software problem, brand new model of boiler and the software hadnt been updated from the old model!

The warranty's seem to be getting better and better with boilers now, some are ten year ones! But for your warranty to be valid do you need to have them serviced annually? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Update

FYI... contacted Baxi service arm and they came out next day... They reported that, if a fault was present, the boiler should display an error code (which it never had).

The engineer stripped & checked the boiler but found no faulty parts. He alluded to the potentially inadequate installation by the plumber who did the install (no evidence of flushing / cleaning the system prior, no detail / test results on the receipt / certificate of conformance etc) and in the end changed some small part (my mother in law didn't ask what Rolling Eyes ...) and re-tested it. After further tweaking the ma in law declared herself happy (make a note in your diaries ladies & gents... Smile ) and hot water was available at last! Thumbs Up ...

Be true to yourself. That way happiness lies...
