a few 75k servicing costs in kent

After having to do some ringing around I thought id just share some prices i found

I rang three main dealers in the area

Barretts in Ashford - £396
Guy Salmon in Maidstone - £416
Harwoods in Tonbridge - £300!

Ive booked in with the independent RCV in Paddock Wood - £232.

In March Guy Salmon price matched Harwoods for the 60k but they refused this time around. Barretts were prepared to come down to £350 after a bit of haggling...

Just had Marshall LandRover call to say my service is due? strange as i didnt buy from them and it was serviced 2 months ago when i bought it, forgetting the recent service as part of the deal i got, the original service wasnt even due...

Anyway i was asked if they could call when its next due to which i respnded with a yes, but also asked if they matched prices from other independants as they seem considerably more, her response "alot of people say that we are very expensive" honest i guess Shocked

R C V appear to get very good reports on both customer satisfaction and pricing. I have used them once myself.
I had been using Barretts Canterbury for eleven years for repairs [ jobs I could not do myself ] and not once have they been able to do it properly. They can be lying Censored also.

Try Harwoods in Edenbridge. This is where I bought my Evoque from & they are fantastic there. 01732 861300, ask for Steve in the Service department & say Andy the valeter recomended, I have no idea of what they may charge but if you quote Tonbridge price & RCV they may do a deal. I have found their service department very accomodating (so far!)

Just before I sold my Freelander I took it to Guy Salmon in Maidstone for a quote. I have found them to be right up their a**** generally. The girl on reception there slated Barretts of Canterbury for doing jobs that wern't neccessary & lying to customers - she told me she worked there. She then went on to ask for my details - I said they should be on your system as you (Guy Salmon) replaced (suposedly) my bluetooth unit on my FL2 which I was never convinced they ever did. She said there are no details so I reminded her of the bluetooth job & she went a bit red!! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.
(Past) RR Evoque Dynamic Lux Si4 In Firenze Red.
(Past) RR Evouque Pure Tech in Barollo Black with bespoke Firenze Red colour coding.
(Present) Freelander Metropolis 2015 MY In Santorini Black with Ivory Premium Leather.

Im so glad I a very able and can fully service my own cars. Over the years I have saved thousands and thousands of pounds and every time I am happy in the knowledge that it has been done to a very high standard using only genuine parts. Thumbs Up
