Engine 2.2 / auto box separation

Does anybody on the forum have experience of actually separating the 2.2 diesel engine from the Autobox?
In simple terms there is the autobox, the diff drive unit to the back axle and a cradle bolted to the engine that supports the RH driveshaft. I am expecting to leave the autobox/reardiffdrive bolted together and wonder what to do with the cradle? The main problem is that you can only separate the engine about 15mm before engine projections hit the reardiffdrive casting; is that enough to separate the engine flex plate from the torque convertor? The workshop manual TOPIX is devoid of any detail for this last bit of 'removal'.
heres hoping......... Wink 2010GS Auto ex Celeb, Santorini Black, 2011 facelift , spoiler, spats, mudflaps, LED footwell lamps, Witter detach,
