Rear suspension arm.

Just put a kink in the rear suspension arm. The rather flimsy one that sits just in front of the drive shaft. Any problems changing this? Any shims or funny washers to rotate or is it a straight swap? Or do I leave it to a dealer? Silver 2009 HSE

France 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Narvik Black

Not quite as straightforward as one might think.

The inner bolt will not come out in situ so LR say you should undo it a bit then cut the head off the bolt. They will then supply you with a replacement bolt which goes in the opposite way round and comes with a protective cap. They also say the small bolt holding the handbrake cable to the arm should be replaced (done up to 10nm). Do not tighten the arm bolts until the car is on the ground and then do them up to 175nm. Unfortunately you then need to get the tracking checked.

Hope this helps. John

Thanks for that. I think I should be able to manage that. I will see if they are open in the morning for parts. Silver 2009 HSE
