2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver
MY13 Headlights

Standard Halogens are single bulb for both low & high beam using a HB3 form.

I've ordered nightbreaker plus replacements to try to make up for the dimness of the standard bulb. New: Freelander2 GS 62 plate (MY13) - Santorini Black with Clearview & Front PDC
Old: Freelander2 XS 09 Plate - Zermatt Silver with ST3 remap (eco map), Garmin 1490T Sat Nav, Rear Seat Entertainment kit

Maybe this is a dumb question and it has been covered in another thread.

The LED lights, are they just DRLs or do they also have a bright "Main Beam" function?

If just DRLs then this means that Main beam must be even more dire than it was before, even with up-rated lamps. Bi-Xenons are OK on dip, but again on main beam just not good enough in my experience.

Then we get into the much discussed inability to mount auxiliaries other than with that LR abortion of a kit.

Unimpressed, tbh, very unimpressed.

Thanks for the link to that question Chris B.

hmmm two months for LR to not answer what seems a fairly simple question. Or is it just me?

On the halogens you hear a loud clunk when you 'flash' the headlights or switch to main beam. As far as I can tell the LED bits do not change in intensity. New: Freelander2 GS 62 plate (MY13) - Santorini Black with Clearview & Front PDC

Had an evening trip today and the dipped beam was awful. However, oddly enough, high beam seems okay. New: Freelander2 GS 62 plate (MY13) - Santorini Black with Clearview & Front PDC
