Had my XS MY13 for 6 weeks now and very pleased with it. Just had rear spoiler fitted and mud flaps which look good. It's nice to be so high up. When I drive the wife's car now it feels like I am driving lying down!

hi pix dont be to easy on the engine you will need to maintain the dpf(diesel particulate filter) these engines should at least be given a good run out at higher revs to keep the filter from blocking |

Mine comes soon! Hope get low 40s mpg after run in as I do 85% motorways..... * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

Do they really need a good run to maintain the DPF, mine has 25k on it now, it normally will not see a Motorway for months and Dual Carrigeway for almost as long and never had a DPF problem (touch wood) I wouldn't even know its there for the trouble it's been, not even a glimmer of a warning. |

Same for me. No problems with the DPF in 18 months and 17,000 miles despite far too many short runs. |

Thanks everyone - seems the mpg keeps creeping up as after today's run to the future mother in laws (football was on so not all bad:) ) it's now 36.1mpg, how long/miles until an engine has been 'run in'. Thanks |

MPG in any Land Rover is never going to challenge the Eco cars and if it is your primary concern then you have probably bought the wrong car. The Freelander 2 is about enjoying what it brings to motoring and for me it is the most fun car I have owned, and that includes fast as well as luxury cars. Furthermore, and particularly at this time of year, I know that my family is in one of the best and safest vehicles they can be in during the winter.

I agree. I never managed to get more than 32MPG so far (150Hp man, 80% highway). But its more like a competition for myself thanreally saving fuel. But whenever possible I take the smaller road (with more ups and downs, curves and at the moment more snow). |
