If you're planning to change it after 10,000 miles then you could do a deal with the main dealer, cant see the point in that though :S I can't even see the point in changing it every 3 years as you can get a land rover extended warranty. Anyway in answer to your question I think you'd loose around 8.5k over the first year with 10 k on the clock. I'd just buy it and keep it for 5 years, its up to you but no one actually cares if its a 62 plate or a 58 plate. When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

what I am trying to basically say is if your intending to keep it buy new if your not by a decent second hand one from a dealer. When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

Just buy it and keep it forever that way any outlay will be negligible |

There are not many cars out there that will hold a high value from new. Most cars lose the most in the first few years, after that it settles down.

The Evoque is a bit of a one off in the residuals.....with dealers able to sell secondhand units at the price of new ones (until recently they were selling them higher than new until LR stepped in and stopped it). But as demand for the Evoque is met residuals will fall back. If you want the best residuals then go for an Evoque but I've always found FL2 residuals to be well better than average anyway and on one occasion I traded one in for more than I paid for it after 18 months previously....buy in the summer sell in the winter!. Although I like the Evoque I prefer the more traditional and less ostentatious look of a FL2 so I'm happy to accept the difference in residuals. |
