Servicing Documentation

Does anyone know if you get any paperwork when you've had a service at Stratstones?
All i got was the bill with a consummable parts breakdown and the stamp in the manual.

I don't seem to have got the service report which would tell me how worn the tyres and brakes are and what other checks that they did and weather they were red, amber or green.

Or am I just used to what some of the other brand dealers provide?

Thanks! 11 SD4 HSE Stornoway Grey / Black Windsor Leather

The one near me supplies a service sheet working on the Traffic Light System, its a very rough guide though, the First Service they did it September 2011, it went back two weeks later and they did it again. and the Pads had increased in thickness and the tyres had deeper tread. Second service last year they did it again in September, it states that the Rear Pads need replacing Urgently and that we requested that they did not do them, it went back in for an FOC Pre Winter Check in November and they did it again this time the sheet states that the Rear Pads need changing at the next service. Confused

ad12323436,
Wow, thicker pads and deeper tread?
I'll take mine there with an empty tank, no road tax and a slipping clutch.
With any luck they might spray it grey too! Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

You called Whistle

I have been given the traffic light reports previously, to be honest they are simply a fancy looking tick box sheet, anyone who thinks a mechanic (not sure they are anymore) checks the item then ticks the box is disillusioned it will be completed in a couple is seconds, tick tick tick, yeah they look like 4mm to me Gav Whistle

thanks for all the replies.

I asked the dealer for it on the second day as the car needed a couple of warranty items doing. It's called a vehicle health check (at Stratstones anyways) and you're quite right it is just a fancy tick sheet.
Having seen these before in the past from Sytner, I was interested in it for the brake pad and the eveness of the tyre wear.

It would appear my front pads are as new as it gives a figure for the thickness when new (12mm), what it currently is (12mm), a recommended minimum thickness (2mm) and a usuable amount (current thickness less recommended minimum - 10mm)
The rear pads look like they're thinner than the front ones when new - 10mm and i only have 2mm usuable left. (scored amber)

My tyres seem okay although wear seems uneven, I check my tyre pressures regularly so just going to assume the previous owner didnt Smile

Position Inner Middle Outer
NSF 4.48 4.44 4,42
OSF 5.18 4.79 4.25
OSR 4.89 4.85 5.41
NSR 5.55 4.61 4.68

Seems like the car is going to be okay for another year when it will need some new boots and some rear brake pads at next service. Thumbs Up 11 SD4 HSE Stornoway Grey / Black Windsor Leather
