Axle weight limits and wheel load ratings - some Q's

I've searched the forum, but don't see much talk about it. Before we start, lets not get bogged down too much on insurance aspects just yet cause that seems to kill off a lot of topic discussion. Lets have that discussion and ideas and thoughts.

Is there anything specifying the axle weight limits of the freelander 2? Or is it just a case of equally splitting the weight limit of the vehicle across both axles.

Second aspect to that: I've read on the web that a load rating of 101 is generally the lowest tyre load rating to go with on the FL2 (think I read it on another forum Shocked ) ... which is a load rating of 825kg - Is that the case?

Do the alloys have to match that load rating ? ( cause some alloys advertised as suitable for the FL2 have load ratings of 675kg to 700kg )

Now heres an example: If the Max Gross weight of the FL2 is about 2500kg, then are the axle weight limits 1250?
If the alloys are 700kg rated, that would exceed the axle rating and in theory would be fine ... but it would still be less that the 825kg load rating of the tyres ... so would that make it not fine ???

I'm just considering all the options and ideas about alloys for the freelander.

Thanks, Don Fisha.

If it helps, on mine on the casting of the alloys on the inside is a load rating iirc of 800kgs.

The maximum permissible axle weights are on the car "plate" along with the max gross vehicle weight and maximum train weight (laden weight of car plus trailer).

Cannot remember what order they are on the plate, but the info is in the handbook. Now: 2012 FL2 SD4 XS Orkney Grey
Previously: 2007 D3 TDV6 XS Tonga Green
Before that: 2003 FL1 TD4 "Kalahari" Black
