Emergency vehicles and warranty work

Are Land Rover vehicles that are used by the emergency services covered by the 3 year warrenty? Just wondered if the services ever take the vehicles to a local dealer or if all the repairs are done in-house by the emergency services?

When the Army first received Defender in about 1985 they were covered by a LR Warranty and all routine servicing and repairs was supposed to be done by the nearest Dealer. Same I believe applied when the Army received Wolf LR's but I think it was only a 12 month warranty.

I don't know about Land Rover but Ford do cover them. I know this because a Ford main dealer I worked at often had police cars in for work. We got a call from the local police once saying that one of their Focuses had a problem so one of the loopy fitters went and drove it from the police station across town to the workshop because he wanted to drive a police car....the catch was the car was stuck in reverse so he drove it the whole way backwards! He said it was most amusing when he was stopped at a zebra crossing sat in a police car staring into the face of the dumbstruck driver behind him! Very Happy John
