I have been monitoring this post and I am considering one of these LED Lenser torches.

At the moment I have a 6D Cell maglite with a xenon bulb that puts out 40,000 peak beam candlepower (not sure how PBC compares with lumens)

Anyway, the maglite is a tad weighty and lengthy so what are your thoughts of the P14: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LED-Lenser-P14-Gif...amp;sr=1-6

Will it outshine the maglite despite being smaller? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

just checked, I have the T7 and the L7

http://www.zweibrueder.com/ENG/produkte/ht....php?id=l7

The L7 is much lighter, but I prefer the weight of the T7, I dont notice any difference in brightness, I just think they are both really powerfull for their size

Thought the L7 was the same as T7 as T is tactical and comes with metal or harder body

Don't ditch the maglite just yet. Look for led bulbs for them. Huge difference on my 3 cell.

could be the case, my L7 only takes 3 batteries and the T7 takes 4. Also, the L7 has a twist to zoom whereas my L7 is a slide to zoom, which works really well one handed. Even though the L7 has less power so to speak, I havent noticed anything other than them both being really bright : )

Led Lenser vs Maglite

I've got the MT7 and a Maglite. MT7 beats it hands down in my opinion. Maglite is a better cosh though! The MT7 has a stobe mode which should be used with caution. Got surrounded by cows the other night and accidently put it in strobe mode-they absolutely freaked Shocked

Most of the staff on my station including myself have either the Fenix or the LED Lenser T7, we were realy happy with them untill a trainee apeared with an Ultrafire torch off fleabay with a Cree T6? LED and made us sick he paid £18 for it along with 2X rechargable batteries and charger, the light output is far better than my T7 but the build quality is Censored whilst working nights I now carry an Ultrafire leaving the T7 as a spare in the car, the output is stated to be 1600LM the torch forums say this figure needs cutting in half but its still a better torch then my T7.

Got an UltraFire today, together with removable bracket for a bike.
Really really bright, good job it's got 3 levels of output. Also came with charger and two sets of batteries. great value. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Merry Christmas folks! I post quickly here to say that one of my gifts this morning has been an LED lenser L6. The brightness is unreal! Compact and light enough for the dog walk too. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
