TV's LCD v Plasma v LED

On the lookout for a new telly; must have Freesat tuner as Freeview signal is very weak.
I'm anti Murdoch and anti Sky!

Not going to be used for gaming.
Around 42'', no smaller.

Any recomendations? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Avoid Samsung unless you want to replace it soon Whistle
Panasonic viera supposed to be good.
There is new technology on the horizon all the time, good led should do you.

Look at Richer Sounds

Panasonic 42" plasma freesat in the lounge,
32" Panasonic freesat G20 LCD in conservatory
And a big old Panasonic TV in kids playroom which is the reason I have a bad back

All work brilliantly well and very happy with all but last one, and all contributing to Mr Murdoch pension fund Whistle

Were ver you buy make sure they offer 5 year warranty Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Had a Samsung which went kaput after two years. Not too many TVs with Freesat. Panasonic probably best bet.

Some of our kit is made on Samsung production lines, they are very reluctant to go 5 year warranty.
Speaks volumes to me.

It's cheap to insure a product for 5 year warranty, a different story though for a manufacturer.
Modern ones Evil or Very Mad you mean like that modern fizzy p Censored ss you were drinking Laughing

Oh nooo. Not new speakers.
My old B&W Matrix will blow the socks off any new stuff. They'll blow the roof off Comet, Curry etc.
And my ancient pre amp - monoblocks.
If they had my speakers in there, the rest would go in the skip.
But you can't get hi fi in those places Rolling with laughter

we have 60" LED back lit TV, Picture quality better than our previous plasma but best of all my electric bill plummeted ! plasma suck duice.

the down side is the tele is about 10mm thick so the speakers are carp so had to buy a bose sound bar to compliment the tele.

our samsung 55 was great for 5 years reliability 100 better than my FR2. Not a single issue from new so bought another.

Oldgeezer,
I think all speakers in tv's are carp. I havn't used tv speakers for years, it all goes through my hi fi. I reckon the speakers in my current Sony Bravia LCD cost about 50 pence. The amp inside also is worse than a Decca radio. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
