Looking for some feedback on the above tyre in the 235/60 R18 T (107 XL) size.

Picking up SD4 Hse in 2 weeks, presently has Pirrelli Scorpions on which I know from D4 do not last that long, so looking for a tyre that will cope with some muddy situations and have a better wear rate.

Looking on-line coming in at just under £600 for 4 inc of postage, does that sound about right

have you considered General Grabber AT's in 255 55 18, they have a very very long life - 10mm tread I believe.. 

The larger General Tyre is an option, have had them before, very good, though life is not as good as previous version the AT2, but was just seeing if could avoid the hassle of the larger size (will they rub)and ringing the insurance company and putting the speedo out

Also will probably get spare set,so if going for the larger size really need 5 alloys instread of 4 if I can keep the spare same size saves a little cost

i have the larger size, no issues with rubbing. plenty of space, speedo will be fine as rolling diameter is near as damn it the same, certainly your eyes would not perceive the difference on the speedo.. 

AJS have said the general grabber 235/60x18 will be out Q1 2013.

Just noticed Wrangler AT only has a speed rating T up to 118 mph, think V is on standard equip supplied.

Suppose Pirreli ATR would be another way to go, though more expensive definatley last longer than Grabbers and the side wall is a lot stiffer too.

Would be good if General are releasing the 235 size though 1st qtr could mean spring and all the bad weather has gone

I ran the Gy Wrsngler ATR on a Fl1. I remember at the time it was no noisier than the (1998 pattern) Gy Wrangler HP, rode as well on road and had more bite off-road. It wasn't in the same league as the BFG AT, but better than normal road biased tyres.
However the HP on our LRs nowdays is a doffernt tread design to the old ones, plus there has been a fair few newer alternatives released for the Fl.

Does no one use BFG ATs anymore? They were the default choice in a slightly oversized fit for the Fl1.
