I know that our FL2's already have a degree of rust protective coatings on the underside & wheel arches - but has anyone had extra professional treatment eg Dinitrol ?

What about something cheaper and simpler like Waxoil? '57 GS TD4 in Stornoway. Privacy, Leather, Tred Cills. From ebay etc.. 18" 12 spoke HSE alloys, rear spoiler, clear side repeaters with clear leds, led interior light to replace bulbs, sports exhaust trim, TomTom 720.

Dinitol has been tested in Germany under long term stability, and it failed due to crystalization and therefor corrosion between metal and Dinitol.

Living in Norway I used Tectyl-treatment. In Denmark Dinitrol is predominant.

Quick question, jimmy: what do you mean with "impact" protection? The "fluid" line is produced by Holts and these products have the proven capability to stick to the surface (metal) and stay there by keeping a certain liquidity over their lifetime, therefor do not crack and not allowing water to enter between metal and protective coat. Dinitrol and Tectyl products have the disadvantage that the protective coat will get hard and will crack after some time allowing water to squeeze between metal and coat.

Hey YF, I expected that Dinitrol & Tectyl offered protection against rust & also stone chips etc (eg small "impacts" to the underside body work). Whereas the Fluids you mention - only offer rust protection (not impacts) ? |
