Getting foggy...

Newbie here, enjoying my first week with my Freelander 2, apart from one strange quirk.....every now and again (but especially after I've adjusted the temperature) fog pours out of the air vents as if I'm at an 80s rock concert! It takes me back, but I'm pretty sure it's not right...any ideas? I also had water dripping from the side of the centre console, where the plastics meet the carpet, on the first day, but this has now stopped. Is the A/C unwell, or is there a solution?

is the aircon on or is it on economy mode When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

or your heater matrix has a leak Evil or Very Mad , pop an egg white in the coolant that will seal the hole. (only do that if your driving to a garage to trade your car in) At work
At home

Thanks for the feedback, folks!
Chris - I've cycled between on/economy/off and it's pretty random...any change in temperature=blowing fog!

CG - leak was on passenger side, but I'll have a look. If it's the matrix, it's back to the dealer...the egg white's a nice trick, but as I've only had the car 6 days I'm not quite at the point of trading in just yet Wink

Quick update...

Having suddenly decided to dump several cubic metres of fog into the cabin whilst I was doing 70(ish) on a crowded motorway, reducing visibilty to inches (inside!!), the car is now back with the dealers team of strategically shaved monkeys for a good looking at (and to get the stains off the seat....)

I, meanwhile, am getting in touch with my feminine side thanks to the turquoise Corsa courtesy car... Rolling Eyes

Morning all, this is actually good news as I'm having exactly the same problem and was gettling to the point of having to go to the stealers... I've had a look at the link with the pics - does anyone out there have an idiots guide to fixing this - basic step by step etc...?

Cheers

Think I'm having a similar issue. Looking at the pics (thank you for those) that pipe sits just behind the plastic trim in the driver's footwell. Is it a tube to allow moisture to drain into the footwell (surely not), or does it act as an air intake?

Thanks,

Thanks. So presumably it can become disconnected at the point that sits behind the plastic cover and leak into the footwell?

Mine seemed to have resolved itself over the last few days and all was well, then I set off on a six hour drive yesterday and moments after joining the M3 is started again - but worse than ever... Had a very cold trip home with temp set at min and fan on full - very cold and grumpy by the time I got back...

Anyway, today I got the trim off, found the pipe (which was attached), gave it a squeeze and then had a large puddle from under the car - all fixed and working perfectly Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks for the help guys Thumbs Up

I am curious as to what makes this pipe become blocked and stops the water from dripping out and away? MAybe a form of algae?

I took both footwell trim panels off in my '07 FL2 and found that under the passengers floor mat was quite wet. This seemed to be asa result of water dripping from underneath the bulkhead behind the trim panels and into the passenger side footwell.

I found a soft flexible rubber hose on the driver's side and gave that quite a few squeezes that like your seemed to release water onto the ground under the car (yay!).

I have kept the panels off for over a week now and it has stayed good so they can go back on I suppose Smile

No more misting inside the car so all seems to be sorted. Thanks for the help here.
