Clearly each case is judged on its merits in law but it might be worth a stab for people to try the legal route.

If/when your clutch fails and some smug git just says it is not covered then take them to court under SOGA 1979. Not as unrealistic as it sounds because the small claims court costs are quite low (so I am told) and would probably be less than paying for a new clutch yourself. Should you be victorious, not only would they have to rectify it F.O.C but they would have to pay your court costs.

Someone needs to take a stand against these car makers putting Censored poor clutches onto cars. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Doc i am a fan of the small claims court and have used it a few times to get my rights and it looks like i might have to shortly again Sad It costs just £30 to lodge a claim online and its simple as abc..
Reading the thread you see that it all depended on how good the dealer was and some got new clutches and flywheels while some did not and that is a sure fire way to get people angry when they see others getting sorted while they are getting the bird..
