I used heavy cardboard cut with a Stanley knife to fit round the circumference like a round box(if you follow my meaning) on both sides with miles of "Gaffer" tape to hold it in place.
Have to say the courier (they use DHL) did not seem to concerned and was only bothered that the delivery address was correct.
