Tyres and brake pads - need advice!

Hi all!

Need 4 new tyres.... The majority of my journeys are short start - stop type journeys....

Need hard wearing!

What's best?

Also need front and rear brake pads changing - how much will this be?

I recently priced pads all round and think it came to just over £100. They are not a big job to fit you can DIY easily. If a garage did them whilst doing the tyres it's going to cost you a couple of hundred, depends how expensive they are.

I have just ordered 4X General Grabber ATs for my wife's FL2. I've done 10K on a set in my Disco and they are like new. Quiet on road and motorway cruising but surprisingly capable off road and if we get snow..........

(you embarrass the entire 4X4 owning community by putting on crap road tyres and then get stuck in mildly bad weather or a slightly muddy field Whistle )

Also if a garage did the pads there is a good chance you might need discs replacing too.

can't recall how much i paid to get the pads, but got 20% discount at farnells for the rears, and then used Dan at Duckworths for when i did the others

Fitting, i used a mate and cost me a Chinese and then a curry the next time Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

The garage should check/lubricate the handbrake drum mechanism at the same time.
