on the audi forum I read there is a post about a police random checkpoint were they stopped cars and looked for modifications such as alloys spoilers etc and questioned the drivers about insurances for these things. I believe drivers were getting warnings not prosecutions. No mentions of towbars but ive never seen a TT with a towbar and hope I never do!

I agree about not seeing a tow bar on the back of a TT.
It would spoil the look of any caravan it was towing. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Talking about insurance companies requesting more money for added items. Last year a certain company specialising in the over 50's asked me for over £100 extra on an X5 as I had a Tracker fitted. Most companies will give you a discount for Tracker being fitted but they claimed that that it added value to the car Rolling Eyes 2007 FL2 SE Diesel Auto

I prefer Dutch insurance, as you can choose to declare mods, purely in that if the car is stolen you'll be paid out for them, or you can just leave it and pay the normal premium.

It was an easy choice to add a 45 bhp chip to my Audi...... Thumbs Up
