Judder at Peak Touque only in the wet for now

Hi All

Today when driving along the car juddered at 2000 rpm in sixth gear while going up a gental hill.

I am guessing that this is the dreaded dmf / clutch problems, the car has just ticked over 100k miles so from what I can gather its done quite well so far.

My question is it safe to drive? My dad that owned the car before me said it happened once before when the conditions were very wet, but was fine the next day.

I have had no issues with judering until today, again when its very wet. It only happens when the car hits 2k revs in 4th 5th and 6th, so for now its only a problem on the motorway.

If I keep driving the car am I at risk of completely destroying something i.e. do I need to ring the AA or should I try and get it booked into a garage next week? I have a very busy week this week and really need the car but if its going to cause problems then I will have to make other arrangements.

I have a 50mile journey home so wonder if it is best to wait until the traffic dies down and travel then or just set off now and get home.

I know there is lots of info dotted around the site on this topic, but a bit panicky and using my phone to post so help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jon

It wont ruin anything if its only just started, and if it dries out tomorrow it may well return to normal, but its something to watch and if it keeps starting to do it regularly then it needs looking at, its obviously beginning to slip at peak torque.
100k thats going some on a clutch when many seem the go at around 40k

Thanks for the reply, out of interest how does the water effect the clutch? I have always assumed (probably incorrectly) that its a sealed unit?

Will it probably be a friction plate, dmf and slave unit jobby?

Would the best thing to do leave it for a few hours let it dry as much as possible then take it easy home?

Jon

To add an updated, got much worse on the way home, started happening at lower revs and in more gears, looks like a trip to the garage tomorrow...
