I've had a search on the forum and couldn't find a problem similar to mine. The wife was driving the car today and she tells me she was driving slowly in 4th and went to change gear and the lever wouldn't move. Eventually she found neutral but the car will only go into 3rd, 4th and reverse. Does this sound expensive?!!

If anyone has any ideas what the problem could be or is it gearbox out I would be very grateful.

Thanks for the reply - I found some of the links. On my car if you try to select 1st or 2nd you end up in 3rd or 4th. Once you are in 3rd or 4th the lever is free to move to the left but not to the right.

It all sounds a bit strange.....
