I'm not a fan of leather. Also (according to friends who work for manufacturers) there are only a few panels that are actually leather, the rest are immigration!

If you're paying a professional upholsterer then I prefer suede/alcantara middles with leather sides.

Damn you Censored iPhone auto-correct! My 11-month old has 'handled', slObbeted on and chewed my iPhone. The 31-month old rescued it and threw it at me, fair to say the touch-screen is struggling a lot!

I experienced alcantara and leather in a Passat 1.8T and my 04 Freelander Sport and a Mondeo - I think it is a brilliant combination.

One the best, if not the Best is Classic Car Services in Leicester.

I have had 10 interior re-trims done by them, the owner Steve is a good friend of mine.

Regarding having new covers sent and fitted. This is not possible as the original seat covers need to be stripped and patterns made from them for the leather.

CCS do everything bespoke as two Freelander 2's may be slightly different, so generic covers will never sit right. There are also many plastic parts from within the seat that need to be swapped over.

Cost wise, you are looking at around £1500 for a complete interior. That is for all seats and door cards in full bridge of weir leather.

Check them out on www.classiccarservices.co.uk

They were also commissioned by Vauxhall to come up with a fix for a seat problem on the Astra VXR, and do quite a bit of warranty work for Jaguar. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
