Hi,
just got back from a weekend away out in N/west wales while driving back through Snowdonia caught a slight whine at low speed, seemed worse on left hand corners then all the time more pronounced at about 10 - 25mph
it sounds like steering pump to me ...??
New SD4 now covered 5,800 miles (is it low mileage for steering pump/rack to go??? )

power steering fluid looks dark green /going black..in reservoir

(cant remember what color it should be in land-roveris it the the usual cherry red .??)

will be ringing dealer tomorrow first thing .. any (useful comments appreciated ) Wales
Were the mud is thicker, and the ruts are deeper.
(And we have the water to wash it off, and more on the way..! )

Sounds like steering pump to me as well. It's usually the early ones that go though. Just had mine (07) replaced under extended warranty. If they interfere with the rack make sure they do a 4-wheel tracking. I think green is the correct colour, though my memory ain't too good on that.
