Wheel Alignment Recommendation - Preston / Blackpool

Can anyone recommend a reliable company for Four Wheel Alignment in the Blackpool / Preston area? Not all tyre fitters will check Land Rovers.

It looks like the nearside rear is wearing quicker than the offside rear. Due for new tyres all round soon so wise to get the aligment checked.

Thanks,

Chris

Hopefully someone will come along with a local recommendation, but if they don't, why not go out for a nice drive over the Pennies to Gateshead and Team Valley Land Rover - TVLR. Many folk on here recommend them highly. Thumbs Up

If you look at their website they have this remarkableIan's very expensive hi-tec machine (and I'm told they do know how to use it) to check out any LR vehicle's wheel alignment. Razz

Oh, and tell'em I sent you. I'm so fed up with this bunch of clowns here in Switzerland that I'll be popping in there beginning of October. My journey will be a lot longer than your little amble under the Ribblehead viaduct and across the dales but after speaking to the head honcho Graham, I confident it will be worthwhile:thumbsup:

Seriously, may be a good idea. We were considering having a few days away over on the east coast in the van. Thumbs Up
I’ve had a couple of bad experiences with wheel alignment locally. Censored

IN A VAN Thud
I'll be on the blower tomorrow no expense spared continental telephone call and tell Graham to shut up shop as soon as your van is within 50ml. Censored

But seriously, have you seen the kit TVLR have got on their website - if it's good enough for F1 teams it is good enough for her Ladyship's FL2 Thumbs Up

Have a grand day, weekend out on the east coast Very Happy

Just had a recommendation from a chap at work for a garage not far from home. He had his Honda Track Car (Civic) wheels aligned and said they were excellent, very good job. Going to chat with them after the bank holiday so will report next week.

Glad to say the van (Caravan) tracking is spot on!!!!!!! so we will be over to the East coast soon. Very Happy

I wish you all the best this time around considering what you said about your run of poor results locally in the past. Thumbs Up

I've had previous cars (Mini 2 & MG) 4 wheel laser tracked at Barry & Wilkinson in Leyland (nr Preston). They did a brilliant job & can adjust caster, camber, toe-in / out etc on their machinery. They usually invite you to have a look at the computer screen before adjusting anything so you can see if things need adjusting. Our Mini was way out on all 4 wheels & after they adjusted it, it was like a different car. They did me a really good deal too. If I remember correctly they did it for £60 on the MG earilier this year.
I have no affiliation to them, but have received really good service on numerous occasions. Tyre prices are competitive too.
Hope this helps.
Russ. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Russben,

Thanks for that. I'm going to have a chat with a chap in Hambleton (Wyre) later this week but will bear your recommendation in mind. We have a B&W place in Poulton-le - Fylde but I could use the Leyland place as it's not that far from work.

After having a quick glance at the rear wheel setup on mine this afternoon, I cannot workout how they adjust the 'toe' on the rear.

Chris

Try Kirkham, Poulton, Freckleton & Cleveleys for size then. Very Happy Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Not another one schooled at Montgomery! I did my last two years there 1976 - 78 (for my sins). I understand it's better now than it was then?????

Back to the subject. I had my alignment checked this morning. The front was just out of spec and the rear was well out. Salcoats Garage at Hambleton if anyone local to the Fylde coast is interested.

The tyre dealer in Wesham (Kirkham) near the Coop did a good job of adjusting my suspension after getting a set of 225/75r16 Gy MTRs onto my Freelander 1.
