Can you update the screen saver on the sat nav system?

Hi all,

I was wondering is there any way you can your own screen saver to the options provided by Land Rover?

all I have is a blank screen, the Land Rover Oval and the Land Rover Analogue clock.

I would like to update this with something else.

Can this be done? Bye for now,
Paul

In theory yes...in practice probably not.

Landrover have probably not put anything in the car or diagnostic software to be able to alter the choices of image shown to something of your own choice, as the liklihood of someone changing it would be very low as you would need to gain access to the car controller software i.e. via diagnostic software, and then upload an image. Basically that would mean the dealer having to do the work, which they wouldn't be very keen on.

I am certain it could be hacked and your own image displayed, but it would take quite a bit of time to figure out where the image is stored in the system and working out how to replace it.................not to mention the possibility of screwing up the system.

Splash screens for sat navs have been hacked on quite a few aftermarket units and a handful of factory units (that I know of), but most are for real common cars like civics.

But that is one of the standard options isn't it? I think what PKYP is refering to is to have it personalised with your own graphic. Question

thats the compass view and not a screen saver

instead of having is set to show the road, you press the button in the bottom left (when showing the roads) and select the compass.

Pointless if you ask me unless your in the outback or a desert and the satnav doesn't have a road

each to their own though Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
