Just in case you fancy having a go yourself (unless you mean the software bit):

Wow! Nice post about fitting this. What else is included that just needs a switch adding? |

well just been down to my local landrover dealer to see if they could enable the cruise for me, more than happy to do it,but when they connected it to there equipment said there was no option available to activate & unable to do it. However they did say its probably just because its the landrover system that wont allow it & maybe that a different system might be able to do it,has anyone experienced this before & managed to get around it using another system such as the Faultmate? many thanks Rob |

As far as I can see the Faultmate is not compatible with the Freelander. |

well i spoke to 10forcash today & he confirms that landrover dealers are unable to activate cruise control due to them using landrover software which knows the vehicle didn't have cruise fitted as standard so won't allow it to be turned on, however his system can do the job no problem we just need to co-ordinate a rendezvous next time he's over my side of the country, hopefully not too long to wait. i will let you know how we get on. rob. |

Job done. managed to find someone more local to me just up the m6 in tebay, using autologic system just turned on cruise control setting & it worked, however it stopped working as soon as the ignition was turned off so had to reprogram the body control module as well now all working perfectly. well chuffed. rob |
